The 90-Day Reset I Use When Life Gets Loud

How I refocus my faith, routines, and goals when life starts spinning.

When life gets loud, I don’t try to start over — I reset. As a teacher, mom, and online creator, I’ve learned that chaos isn’t a sign to quit…it’s a sign to shift. Today I’m sharing the simple system I use to slow down, refocus, and reconnect to what matters most.

The Simple Steps I Use to Reset

When things feel scattered, I’ve learned I don’t need a brand-new life plan — I just need a reset that pulls me back into alignment. These are the exact steps I use every single time life gets loud:

1. I pause and pray first.

Before I try to fix anything, I get quiet. I’ve learned the hard way that if I don’t stop and breathe, I’ll start rearranging my life out of panic instead of purpose. Even a 30-second prayer shifts my whole mindset.

2. I brain-dump everything that’s pulling at me.

Teacher to-dos, business tasks, mom life, skincare, workouts, home stuff — all of it. I pour it onto paper so I’m not trying to carry it in my head. That alone makes the chaos feel smaller.

3. I choose three priorities for the next 90 days.

Not thirty. Three. These are the things that will make the biggest difference in how I feel — not just how much I get done. For me, it’s usually:

  • my health

  • my faith

  • and one major business goal

Anything else becomes “nice if it happens, but not required.”

4. I build one small routine around each priority.

Nothing complicated.
If my priority is health → I set a simple rule like “eat protein at breakfast.”
For faith → “read one scripture each morning.”
For business → “post one piece of content daily.”
Small routines create big confidence.

5. I give myself a weekly check-in instead of perfection.

Every Sunday, I ask myself:

  • What worked?

  • What felt heavy?

  • What do I need to shift?

This keeps me from spiraling and helps me adjust without guilt.

What This Reset Has Looked Like for Me

I didn’t create this reset from a place of having it all together — I created it because I didn’t. I’ve walked through seasons where I felt stretched thin in every direction… teaching, parenting, trying to show up online, and still trying to grow spiritually. And honestly? There were moments I felt like I was failing at all of it.

That’s when I realized something had to change. Not my whole life — just the way I approached it.

Every time I’ve paused long enough to reset, God has used that space to reroute me. Sometimes gently. Sometimes with a “sit down, Amy” moment I didn’t know I needed. But every time, the reset brought clarity.

Like when I was rebuilding my business after taking a long break for teaching. Or when my health hit a wall and I had to shift how I cared for my body. Or the days when my faith felt quiet, and I had to choose to show up anyway.

The reset anchored me.
It reminded me that I don’t have to hustle my way into the life God has for me — I just have to stay rooted in Him and take consistent, intentional steps.

It’s not a magic solution.
It’s not perfection.
It’s simply a rhythm that helps me keep growing, even in the messy seasons.

And if it helped me find my footing again?
It can help you too.

What I Hope You Take From This

If you don’t hear anything else today, hear this: you don’t need a perfect plan to make progress. You don’t need to wait for the “right season,” or until everything calms down, or until you magically feel ready. Life rarely hands us perfect timing — but God always meets us in the middle of the real.

A reset is simply permission to start again with intention.
To breathe.
To step back.
To realign your heart with what matters most.

You are allowed to shift.
You are allowed to slow down.
You are allowed to grow at a pace that honors the season you’re in.

And you’re allowed to build a life — and a business — that feels rooted instead of rushed.

So if life feels loud right now, take it as a cue… not to push harder, but to reset. One step at a time. One day at a time. One prayer at a time.

You are not behind.
You’re being rebuilt.
And you’re stronger than you think, friend.
