The Calm Before the Holiday Chaos: Why I’m Resetting Now Instead of January

December has a way of sneaking up, doesn’t it? One minute I’m lighting the fall candles, and the next I’m staring at my calendar wondering how the month filled itself overnight. As a mom, a teacher, and a woman trying to prioritize her health and peace, I’ve learned something important over the years:

If I wait for January to “start fresh,” I’m already behind.

So this year, I’m choosing something different—
a slower pace, a deeper breath, and a reset that actually feels doable.

Not perfect.
Not intense.
Not “new year, new pressure.”

Just rooted.

For me, that looks like:

checking in with myself morning and night

  • drinking my collagen

  • choosing small habits instead of giant expectations

  • setting boundaries before the month gets loud

  • reading my Bible with intention

  • taking care of my skin even when I’m tired

  • choosing joy on purpose

And honestly? It’s making December feel… peaceful.
Even joyful.
Even in the chaos.

If you’re in a busy season, or your heart feels pulled in a hundred directions, you’re not alone. You don’t have to earn calm or wait for a new year to feel steady again. Sometimes the most powerful reset is the one we give ourselves right in the middle of the noise.

This holiday season is already teaching me that staying grounded isn’t about doing more—
it’s about doing what matters.

If you want to reset with me, check back later this week. I’m kicking off my 12 Days of Christmas Series soon, and it’s going to be full of encouragement, skincare, simple routines, and faith moments to help you keep your peace.

If this resonated, share it with someone who might need a little calm today. We’re all trying to find our footing this month, and it helps to know we’re not doing it alone.
